Gary has deep public policy leadership experience across local, state, regional, and federal levels. He has demonstrated a proclivity to turn around public entities that are on the wrong track and leaving stakeholders behind.
Over the past 30 years, Gary served as an award-winning robotics teacher, programming chairperson, assistant principal, and principal in the Bronx, where his school was removed from the state’s persistently dangerous list. Gary was rated most competent, collaborative and trustworthy among all principals in the Bronx, according to a state Department of Education survey of thousands of parents, teachers and students. Gary also served as deputy network leader for a cluster of 28 schools with 8,000 students, and in that role he oversaw 1,200 staff members and an annual budget of over $30 million.
Most recently, Gary was director of state and federal education policy in the Bronx, coordinating with the state DOE in implementing turnaround plans for schools designated as persistently struggling. He has written and directly managed several million dollars in federal and state grants to improve opportunity and quality of life for students and families.
Gary has volunteered as a Croton Little League baseball and softball coach, and volunteered with his wife for PTA and library board activities. He is a longtime member of the Croton Yacht Club, formerly its Commodore and now on the board of directors.
Gary was born and raised in the Hudson Valley, spending his childhood sailing the Hudson, fishing the lakes of Bear Mountain and hiking in Harriman State Park. His first date with his wife Sharyse was a July 4th sail to Croton Point Park. In the next decade, living in Tokyo, Miami and NYC, they realized that raising their family in Croton-on-Hudson was meant to be. Their two children, Jack, a Senior at Rice University, and Isabel, a Freshman at Tulane University, both attended Croton-Harmon schools from K through 12.
Gary aspires to serve as your next Mayor, guided by a style of transparency and community collaboration that puts residents, their needs, ideas and concerns first. Stacey has an impactful record of driving philanthropic, environmental and DEI progress at some of America's biggest brands. She has created and led national sustainability, wellness, nutrition-access and pandemic-response initiatives supporting millions of people, including underserved or low-income populations. In all walks of service, Stacey abides by a customer-centric approach to deliver solutions by listening to consumers first, engaging them throughout the process and delivering what they need and want.
After 30 years working for small, medium and large employers, Stacey now runs a small business focused on product innovation, omnichannel marketing and brand growth.
Previously, she served for 16 years at PepsiCo, starting as a manager and working her way up to an executive role and co-president of the DEI coalition called RISE. Under her tenure, RISE fostered economic opportunity, grants, arts and culture initiatives, and improved quality of life for Native Americans and people from Latin America. Stacey has managed dynamic and complex operating budgets totaling well over $100 million, including recently a $20 million multi-brand, nationwide capital and product improvement project.
A proud Democrat, over the past year, Stacey volunteered to bolster Assemblywoman Dana Levenberg's efforts to prevent radioactive and toxic wastewater discharge from Indian Point into the Hudson River -- and she is continuing that fight. Stacey and her husband, Daniel, also volunteered as leading canvassers for Mondaire Jones' Congressional campaign in 2024.
Stacey and her family worked tirelessly to be able to move to Croton in 2018. Prior to that, Stacey, Daniel, and their son Maxwell lived in the Hudson Valley, regularly frequenting Croton's parks, shops and restaurants as their go-to local destination for over 20 years.
Stacey seeks to use her directly comparable skills and constituent-centric mindset to earn the privilege of being your Village Trustee. Click here to review and provide input on the Voice of Croton’s principles and initiatives. Connect with Stacey at stacey@voiceofcroton.org.

Nigel has laid it on the line for Croton since moving to the Village as a single parent nearly 20 years ago. He quickly joined Croton’s volunteer fire department, working his way up to second lieutenant and having responded to roughly 35 emergency calls. While working full-time to support his daughter, the Dominican Republic native also volunteered for eight years as a soccer coach in Croton and Cortlandt, and as a lunch server through the school PTA.
Nigel’s professional experience includes a decade serving in operations and upper management at one of the world’s largest retailers, where he directed hundred-person teams.
For the next 15 years, Nigel led enterprise efforts for a local business in the data, communications, telecom, and internet service provider arenas. He served as an executive through growth and change, providing technology services and resources to government and education entities in New York.
Now, Nigel runs a start-up business in the data and audio/video space that continues to expand. NAV Systems serves public and local entities throughout Westchester and the surrounding counties.
Nigel immigrated to the United States when he was six years old and was raised in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. Since achieving his dream of moving to Croton, he has been overcome with a great sense of community, natural environmental beauty and the Village’s tight-knit family feel.
Nigel is an independent candidate seeking to serve you as Croton Trustee to maintain the magic and character of our Village, lead by the will of Croton families, and to secure our infrastructure for the next generation.
